Vampires
(A small note, all vampires have heightened senses to a human. They smell better, hear better, see better, even their taste buds are stronger!)
Vampires can be made in the following way. A person is completely drained in one or several sittings, and the vampire gives him or her a bit of his or her own blood. A vampire does not age, and unless killed in ways specified below - they are immortal. They do not necesarilly need to rest in coffins, but they do need to be near the earth of their homeland when they sleep, and especially be hidden from any sunlight (which is why a grave may be the perfect resting place, if you aren't either incredibly rich or a member of the court.)
Fledglings- A fledgling is any vampire under the age of 50. And a novice is aged between 50 and 100. Fledglings are quite inexperienced with their abilities, compared to that of a vampire much older. At best a fledgling can someone detect the thoughts, the presence, and the emotions of humans. They can levitate small objects, (small meaning a bottle of wine.) With training, they can advance quite far. Fledglings tend to have to drink blood every 1-2 days. If they neglect to drink what they need, they become very ill, and lose their strength, their senses. Eventually they will shrivel up, unable to move, or make a sound except some telepathic whispering, they will remain like this until blood is dripped into their mouths. Sunlight kills them automatically. Holy water blisters their skin, crosses are quite dangerous to touch (imagine putting your hand on a hot stove.) Don’t even think about staking them, if anything at all punctures their hearts they are kaput. Of course all vampires are susceptible to staking, but fledglings die automatically. They heal much quicker than normal people, but anything involving a stake, a cross, or holy water slows their healing process to that of a human. Maybe even slower. Fully fledged vamps can read their thoughts most of the time.
Novices- Novices are stronger than fledglings, but still developing. Their abilities they had as fledglings by now are much better. For instance, they can detect the thoughts of humans and telekinesis is no strain on their concentration, unless it’s moving something like a piano! They can communicate with each other telepathically and need much less blood than fledglings…but crave more. They have to drink blood every 3-4 days. They can survive for up to a week without it though before shriveling up like a mummy. They can stand to be under the sun quite a bit longer than fledglings, but it still gives them very bad sun burns. 30 minutes tops before they are reduced to ashes, the ability varies from vamp to vamp. Crosses are painful to the touch, but they don’t burst into flames like fledglings, holy water stings. It’s a lot like acid, but it doesn’t blister their skin. These vampires heal at the same rate as fledglings, but when it involves holy objects (as mentioned for fledglings) their own healing process slows down to half. So, it’s not as bad for them.
Ancients - Ancients aren’t always very ancient, they’re any vamp over 100. After 100 years, any vampire is fully formed, they will not get stronger physically, or gain new abilities. They can only improve in knowledge and wisdom now. A mere thought or whim could send a human to suicide, or worse. If they try hard enough, they can completely control a weak human like a zombie. Some of the more powerful vampires can destroy their fledglings at will, causing them to burn alive from the inside. This all sounds quite nice, but sadly an ancient is much less emotionally sensitive than a fledgling. Time does this to them, after all…what is happiness if you experience it too many times? Ancients can go several weeks without blood, and after this they resort to a silent stone-like state, like statues instead of the shriveled mummies that younger vamps become. They can remain this way for millennia, until they awake again with a huge amount of effort and blood. Crosses, holy water, and stakes…well, aside from a bit of irritation, the first two don’t do anything to them. Stakes on the other hand, if right through the heart can definitely kill ancients. If only halfway, or a quarter, an ancient may be lucky enough to have a blood supply nearby. If so; they’ve got chances to survive, though there will always be a scar on their chests. An ancient can be under the sun for up to two hours, the ability is not always present in vamps, and the resilience can vary. Another amazing thing they have under their sleeve is that ancients can manipulate shadows, if there are shadows nearby. They can also even delve into the minds of weaker vampires who have not yet learned to close off their minds! They can’t utterly control them like humans unless they are the vampire’s sire and the fledgling is under 100, but they can still strongly suggest things. Some say that the strongest ancients can shape shift and turn into animals or mist, but that’s just a myth right?? All fully-fledged vampires (and some novices) have the ability to bind a single horse to them. This horse becomes soul-bound, and becomes immortal, they cannot be killed and will die at the moment their vampire owner dies. They are irreversibly connected to the horse and vice-versa as eternal companions. Horses like this usually adopt the personality of their vampire after a while.
On a final note, most vampires sleep in coffins. Not because they have to, but mainly to stick to tradition. They’re comfortable, somewhat portable, and not many people would want to open one. All bedrooms in the citadel have no windows however, and this is not strictly necessary.
Werewolves
(A small note, the werewolves are much stronger than vampires in the ability to smell, hear, and see. Still…speed is something they sadly do not have the upper hand in.)
They are never quite Wolves. Even at the peak of their transformation they retain many of the features of Men. They travel alternately on all fours and on hind feet; depending on which form they are in. Hair will be found on the palms of their hands and on the soles of their feet if they are male. All Werewolves are not immune from aging, although they age at an incredibly slower rate than humans. But they are immune from most physical diseases due to the constant regeneration of their physical tissue. They can, therefore, be virtually immortal. They can be killed by any wound that destroys the heart or the brain, or any form of death that causes brain or heart damage (such as hanging or other oxygen-deprivation methods), also from old age. There are several ways to become a werewolf. Being cursed by someone who you have wronged in some way (called Lycaeonia curse), being bitten by a werewolf, and being born to a werewolf (only constitutes towards males, who have the gene on their Y chromosome and pass it down to their sons).
(Lycanthropy is a disease of sorts, it is infectious through scratches and bites, and can be passed on genetically.) Naturally conceived werewolves tend to be more powerful than they would be from just a curse of a bite. In each case, the blood becomes tainted or cursed. A person who becomes a werewolf against his will (birth, or bite) is not completely damned until he tastes human blood (I.E changes and attacks someone out of bloodlust) . Once he does, his soul is eternally corrupted and nothing may redeem him. If wounded in the guise of Wolf the body of the Man will bear the scar as well. When a Werewolf is killed he changes at death back into a man.
The werewolves on this site (with the exception of Omega's, werewolf slaves) are all members of the lukoi pack. The pack is like a family, and like all families there are fallouts, power struggles, arguments. But the pack pulls together, and supports each other against threats. In human form and were forms, they are very touchy-feely with each other, it is not sexual in nature, but touching each other and being close to each other comforts pack members, makes them feel safe, wanted, and even helps accelerate their healing abilities if one is injured. All werewolves need to eat human food in human form, raw meat and blood in wolf form, or a mix of both in order to survive.
Humans are also a race, but an unrequired description.
